From Colombia to Arkansas

Here's a ground blind Richard, Rhett, and our neighbor, J.D., have been working on for a week now. They used scrap wood and scrap everything! They told someone, "We DIDN'T EVEN have any plans to use. We just built it." HA! They are going to move it over in the woods beside our house to bird hunt out of. Meanwhile, several of our friends have driven by and commented on the lovely new addition to our front yard!

relaxin' in Papaw's recliner.

Mom, Reid, Ross, and Tia Christy!

The boys have been jug fishing all summer. This is their biggest catch yet.....a 31.9 lb catfish out of DeGray Lake. Just to put it in perspective, Rhett weighs 44 lbs and is 45 inches tall! The other fish in the picture is a mere 15 lbs. Ha!

My little Colombianos LOVE music and dancing...it is in their blood. They can walk around the house for hours with these headsets on listening to Father Abraham in Spanish......nodding their heads to the beat!

Pre-school choir kicked off at church last night with a party and a visit from a fireman. They will be studying "being a good neighbor." Ross thought he was cool in the fireman's helmet and he was first in line to get the cake!

Rhett killed this AWESOME Corsican ram while hunting with his dad this week. He killed it in one shot with a 223 from about 100 yards. What a shot!! Needless to say, he is overflowing with pride.....and so are we!

I also have to brag on my 8 year old Richard. He hit an in-the-park GRAND SLAM in his first fall baseball game this week!!

Ross and Reid took their first trip to the dentist since being home. Ross was absolutely amazing. I was totally shocked considering he SCREAMED just when I tried to get him to stand on the scales at the doctor's office. At the dentist, he climbed right up in the chair and opened wide! She cleaned his teeth, flossed them, and even scraped them clean. The bottom picture of Reid tells his story most accurately. He just played with the hygienist and not much cleaning was done. But he didn't scream! So I'll take that.

Are we having fun or what???? Please believe me when I say that the rest of my house is neater than the playroom!!!

Oh Happy Day!!! Ross FINALLY learned how to steer the jeep. We no longer have to just turn the wheels and let him go in circles. He takes himself and Reid on all sorts of adventures!

Give Reid one matchbox car (or 100) and he'll occupy himself for hours!

Ross has a LOT of passions.....carros (cars) and motos (motorcycles) are two BIG ones. So when he got to go for a ride with dad on the four wheeler (moto), we hardly ever pried his little rear off!

Here are the little boys getting ready for bed in their room. The other picture is their first "family campout." We blow up the air mattress and watch movies. We had to make an extra little pillow bed for our extra family members!

Well, as corny as it sounds, I feel like I am going to wake up from a dream any day now. I look at these precious boys, ALL FOUR of them, and wonder why in the world God chose to bless Rich and me this abundantly. We certainly don't deserve these little pieces of heaven he has given us here on this earth. I am so thankful beyond any words I can find that God let us have Reid and Ross. I love them so much that it's incomprehensible. If you feel that God is laying adoption on your heart, please don't ever hesitate to call us or email us to ask us any questions. We have heard from so many of you who have said you are interested in adopting. May God bless your journey!

Will it be the dark side or the force? Ross is leaning to the dark side. As you saw in the other photo, Reid is leaning toward the force......

Here's the clan. For those of you who have big families......hats off to you if you've EVER been able to get everyone to cooperate at once for a picture!

The boys LOVE the HotWheels Jeep and spend a LOT of time in it. Ross can't figure out how to steer yet so I just turn the steering wheel where the wheels are turned and he just goes around and around in circles. Reid spends a lot of time on the tricycle.

Yoda, the Jedi Master

All of our friends have been SO kind. The McCauley's brought over a pinata full of toys and candy for the boys to bust. What fun! Our Sunday School class is bringing meals for the next week. We are so blessed. Thanks to everyone.

The little boys took their first trip in the boat fishing the other night at Lake DeGray. And of course, they LOVED it!!

Every day is a new adventure for Reid and Ross. We went to the circus last Saturday and you've never seen such bright eyed little boys! They absolutely loved it.

I am so sorry I haven't posted pics in a while. I am truly overwhelmed by the number of you who are still checking and are interested in our lives. Thank you. These shots are from home. The little boys are making themselves right at home and have adjusted unbelievably well. It's like they've been with us forever! We are so in awe of the wisdom and power of God and of his PERFECTION in placing these boys in our lives. PERFECTION is the only word I can think of to describe every single aspect of this whole journey. In Colombia, you would often hear people say, "Perfecto." That would mean, "just right, perfect, great." I keep hearing that word in my head when I think about my two new sons and my perfect God who worked this whole plan to perfection. We did get discouraged over the past three years because the adoption was taking SO long. But Reid wasn't even born when we started the process!!!!! God was working everything out in his perfect time. Glory to God for his amazing love for us.
