Alfonso explained to us today that if you see this painted on the street, it is marking the spot where someone died from being hit by a car. The way they drive around here, I´m surprised the entire streets aren´t covered up with this symbol. The drivers do NOT yield to pedestrians, as drivers do in the US. Don´t get me wrong, the people are super nice and go out of the way to help you with anything, but when it comes to crossing the street, you´re on your own!
